Hello everyone back "home"! Well, it seems my school life is getting a little easier every week, but it is still great to look forward to the weekends! Four of us gals have tried to head out of town every other weekend or so. Our first trip was by train, one hour north, to the capital of Morocco, Rabat. Twelve of us women went and we had soooo much fun! Two weeks later it was a trip two hours south of here to Ouiliba and then El Jadida on the return trip home. On this trip it was the four of us and I drove. Again, we had a wonderful weekend away. Here are a few photos of the trip.
This is Lynn (1st grade teacher) from Penn. My roommate, Marcia, the Art Teacher from Seattle and Judy is a Middle School English teacher from Georgia! Fun gals to travel with. Lynn keeps us all in line and has gorgeous clothes, Marcia keeps us laughing and Judy is in charge of languages....French, Arabic, Spanish....whatever we need!!
The pool at the villa we stayed at was beautiful, but the day was overcast and a little chilly!
On the way out of town we spotted this enormous nest and penguin on top of a mosque!! They remind me of the Dr. Seuss stories!!
Right after this was when we were pulled over by the policemen. I think I already wrote about that experience!! My kids were so proud of me for speeding and not actually having to pay a ticket. I think that might be the first ever!
On the way home I found a great spot along the ocean to buy. I'm thinking do a few "touch ups" and make it into a lovely bed and breakfast place. The other gals didn't have the adventurous spirit and couldn't "see" the vision...so we drove on.
This last photo is of Lynn's meal on Saturday night. Look closely....they are minos!! Yes....like people in Steamboat use for bait!!!! She ate a few and actually liked the "crispy little things" before she realized what they were!
All in all, it was a fun, inexpensive weekend. Last weekend was spent at school doing mid-term grades, so this weekend, we are headed out again. This time we are headed by train to Marrakech! I'll take more photos for you. They tell me this is where I will see snake charmers! YIKES! You know how I dislike snakes! :)
